There is nothing more exhilarating than to enjoy my first cup of Mocha in Mexico in from of the Santo Domino Cathedral located in Oaxaca de Juarez, Mexico. For $90 Pesos ( $4.93 in U.S dollars) I sat across from the cathedral in a small café contemplating the fact that is took me twenty-four years to return to my hometown. I sat there for the next three hours chatting with my nephew about highs & lows of life. Every few minutes I would look at the cathedral with utter disbelief that I finally made it home. When I initially took this photo, I was simply attempting to be an armature photographer. Now that I am back in the U.S, I look at it with a type of fondness that is hard to describe. It’s a reminder of a new chapter in my healing story.
